Our standard Log House 6” to 12” is the Saddle Notch and Swedish Cope system, is less expensive, faster construction, interlocking CORNERS. we do a “D log” but this isn't the fastest, more expensive, not as maintenance free, requires gaskets or more glue does not interlock. This Saddle Notch-Swedish Cove is user friendly. These Homes can have a 1500 year life expediency Best system for making the air tight. Best for multi levels, stronger and natural water shed fit. Our timber is from the best trees, Lodge Pole Pine and Dough Fir. Aka Jack Pine is fastest growing, and loves the summer sun and thrives on forest fire acid rich ashes. I labeled it as the Miracle Tree. The pine cones in a fire, soon open up because of the 400 degrees and re-seeds the forest floor. New growth is Thriving in the ashes and sun, It then creates the forest canopy so the big timber can take root, the Firs, Spruces, Alpines, Larch, Hem Fir ect. Lodge Pole is thin barked so bark Beatle love it. Bugs gridle it eating the fresh-new growth, stopping the flow of sap or sugars, fire and shade are its enemy. Its self thinning, tall, strait, self liming to compete, reaching for the sun . Growing thick in Montana, a forest flues problem? Fire Reduction treatments are needed, Thinning, harvesting, Burning removes to a point the Forest service pays to have it removed or thinned in certain conditions.
