Contrary to popular belief .......

1) Log Homes are NOT more expensive! Many customers are concerned about the total cost of their log home. Of course there are many factors involved in making that determination, i.e.: grade of cabinets, fixtures, floor coverings, appliances and etc. The construction costs are very comparable to the costs of building a conventional home of similar design.

2) Log Homes do NOT burn easily! Log walls won't stay ablaze all by themselves. They must have fuel to ignite them. Some fire insurance companies actually lower the rates on solid wood log homes.

3) Log Homes are NOT more vulnerable to insects, most do not attack dead wood. Bugs come with the real estate, not the lumber.
